Requirements: Listed as Nurse Assistant I at the North Carolina Division of Facilities Services.  BCLS certification required.  Performs and assumes primary responsibility and accountability for the secretarial duties, equipment cleaning and supply restocking, and communication systems for a designated time frame for a specific nursing unit or department.  The secretarial duties include, but are not limited to, transcribing physician orders, using the computer order entry system, maintaining the patient’s medical record, ordering supplies, and greeting the public.  Performs and assumes responsibility for specific patient care activities, such as caring for patient’s personal needs, obtaining and recording vital signs, as appropriate for the age of the patients within a designated time frame.

Requirements:   Meets criteria of CLIA’88 for high complexity testing.  Position requires national certification or eligibility for certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician. Performs routine, complex, and emergency laboratory analyses on a daily basis.  Responsible for appropriate computer operations and instrument maintenance.  Ensures test accuracy by utilization of control system with appropriate interpretation.
