Maria Parham's Cardiac Rehabilitation (Rehab) Program is a medically supervised program designed to help patients with heart disease recover faster and return to full and productive lives.

The program offers individually prescribed exercises, education and counseling to help participants begin heart healthy living.

The goals of cardiac rehab include:
Reducing the risk of future heart problems
Controlling cardiac symptoms
Stabilizing or reversing the heart disease process
Improving the quality of life
Returning the participant to gainful employment when possible
Increasing exercise tolerance
Reducing hospitalizations
Reducing stress

What is Involved?

Participants are admitted to Heart Wise on a referral by their physician. Participants entering
rehab must have evidence of, or be at high risk for cardiovascular disease. You can benefit from
rehab if you have had: A Heart Attack, Angina Pectoris, Recent Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery,
Recent Angioplasty and/or stent placement.


Pulmonary Rehabilitation (rehab) is a medically supervised program designed to help patients with chronic lung disease recover faster and improve their quality of life.

The program offers individually prescribed exercises, education and counseling to help participants begin living a healthier life.

Pulmonary rehab is a safe and effective way to:
Minimize respiratory symptoms
Reduce hospitalizations
Learn to manage breathing problems
Feel better sooner
Feel stronger
Reduce stress
Improve overall wellness

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

Participants are admitted to Breath Wise on a referral by their physician. Participants entering rehab must have evidence of a respiratory disorder with rehabilitative potential. You can benefit from rehab if you have: COPD, Asthma, Emphysema, Chronic Bronchitis, Pulmonary Fibrosis or
Recovering from lung surgery.
