MPMC Named a ‘Top 25 NC Hospital’

Maria Parham Medical Center, a Duke LifePoint Hospital, was recently ranked as one of the “Top 25 Hospitals in North Carolina” in a listing conducted by Business North Carolina magazine for its overall excellence in providing healthcare. While not all 135 hospitals in the state were included in the analysis, the vast majority of them were.

The Business North Carolina (BNC) ratings are based on Medicare & Medicaid data, the North Carolina Hospital Association and other sources for 12 important criteria that include patient satisfaction, death rate for heart attacks, heart failure and pneumonia; readmission rates for heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia; patient safety records and hospital acquired conditions for procedures such as heart and vascular surgery, joint replacements and female reproductive surgery; and independent ratings by Consumers Union, The Leapfrog Group and U.S. News & World Report.
