5/12/2011
May has been named National Stroke Awareness Month. In observance of that and in an effort to increase the public’s understanding about the third leading cause of death in America, Maria Parham Medical Center is hosting a Lunch & Learn program on Friday, May 20th. Lunch will begin at 11:30 AM in the hospital Classroom, and the presentation, entitled “Stroke Awareness” by Dr. Munther Tabet, neurologist, will begin at Noon in the Auditorium.
After his presentation, there will be a question and answer time. Jan Parham, RN, Stroke Coordinator for the hospital will present information on stroke as well. There will also be handouts and giveaways.
Anyone with an interest in learning more about stroke and how they can be prevented is encouraged to come. Please call Lee Anne Peoples at (252) 436-1116 by 10 AM on Thursday, May 19th if you’d like to be included for lunch.
