Maria Parham’s Tonya Jones Honored at Recent Gathering
Tonya Jones, PHR, MBA, Vice President of Human Resources for Maria Parham Medical Center, was notified recently that she had been selected for Business Leader’s 2011 Women Extraordinaire Awards. She was one of over 50 women from the Triangle region chosen to receive this honor, out of a field of 1700 nominations.
Business Leader Magazine has divisions in Atlanta, Charlotte, Greensboro, Miami, Nashville, Raleigh/Durham, Jacksonville, Tampa and Memphis. Each year, the divisions recognize different businesses or individuals who stand out as being top-notch in their respective realms. Throughout the year, Business Leader Magazine recognizes these ‘stand outs’ in categories like Top 50 Entrepreneurs, Business Leader of the Year, Top Small Businesses of the South and others, including Women Extraordinaire. Nominees for this prestigious award must be either C-level executives, business owners, or civic /community leaders in their regions who have demonstrated significant business achievement and community involvement. Because of this honor, Jones’ profile will be included in this month’s issue of Business Leader Magazine.
Jones, along with the other women across the Triangle region chosen to receive this award, was recognized at a luncheon held earlier this month at the Brier Creek Country Club in Raleigh. She has held the top level Human Resources position at Maria Parham since February 2007.
